What Does this blood Test Result Mean?

I have anemia, blood in my urine (black), my red blood cells are low Hemoglobin 8.7, Hematocrit 29.5, MCV 71.5, MCH 21.1, RDW is high 20.4 and Neutrophils are high 5.6. Colonoscopy and endoscopy did not find a cause. Any ideas? My next test is to swallow a camera pill.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting the health care magic.....

You are having anemia with high RDW...

Your presentation is microcytic hypochromic anemia with hematuria...
High RDW means variation in RBC size more....

Measure your serum ferritin value and TIBC ...to rule out iron deficiency anemia...
Your urine shows blood.
So rule out hemolytic anemia by peripheral smear for normoblast and fragmented RBC with retic count....
If needed electrophoresis can be done.

For blood in urine stone also has to be ruled out....
For that USG and x ray useful.
Urine also examined for pus cell to rule out infective etiology ...

Take care.
